I just think I've read the best opening line to an article I've ever seen in any newspaper, courtesy of Chris Faraone in the Boston Phoenix talking about the rise of the rat population: Residents say that if you jam a leaf blower in the earth virtually anywhere in Allston, furry bottom feeders will be blown out of every crack and hole in sight and rain down like unsavory screeching meatballs. I must say at this point that I've never heard a resident say that, and I'd be quite worried if more than one person had thought of doing so. As far as I can tell we don't have any rats here, either, which is always nice, but with this image in mind it wouldn't stop me trying it out in an attempt to recreate the scene described. 2009-11-25 18:01:00 3 comments |
