Journal
Today is Friday. I'm sitting at home at my work desk, with the sun shining through the window, the air conditioner at a comfortable level, some rather nice thin-crust pizza reheated from last night as lunch, and power metal radio on in the background (once again idly wondering what unholy Matt Smith-like possession inspired Helloween to name a song Sun 4 The World, actually). This is fantastic.

And I'm not just saying that to gloat about it, although it is a rather good reason - it's because on Monday we move into our new work space in the Cambridge Innovations Center, which I mentioned all the way back in February as a possibility for a new workplace, and the ten-week period of my commute being a matter of kicking my feet off the wall and rolling my chair across to the other desk will come to an end.

I'll miss this situation a bit, though the reseparation of work and home will likely do wonders for my productivity, and I admit I was feeling the loneliness of it during the week that I recently spent in the flat alone. And we're going somewhere that resembles a university computer science department where snacks are provided free from the communal kitchens, so it's not all bad news at all. The biggest problem is that I will have to deal with commuting on the T again, though it's been reduced from my giant cross-city route from before. I remember disasters being few and far between when I took it daily, but on the few occasions when I've had to take it to work meetings over the last couple of months it's been dreadful. This, and the people that seem to infest the entire city North of the river with their clipboards, are probably about to become a regular feature of my writing yet again.
