I've just been told by e_to_the_ipi that one of the matches of our second most exciting sport, the tennis at Wimbledon, has just had to be suspended a second time after John Isner and Nicolas Mahut hit balls at each other for seven straight hours this afternoon and evening, in a 59-game-each tie break that is now longer on its own than the entirety of any other match in history.

There's an account of it here by Xan Brooks (space commander), who was unfortunate enough to have to report on it and got increasingly visibly fed up throughout the afternoon - I'm not sure if an upper time limit is declared like in cricket, where someone thought the ideal time for a game to last was five days, or if they could just be out there on court 18 for the rest of time.
